The Eye of Jupiter is a 500 series module in our Storm Series lineup, which offers the DI section of our Dark Storm preamp and a new Re-Amping feature. You get the "Lo Cut" switch of the Dark Storm (on the DI signal path only) and a control knob for the volume of the re-amped signal. Also is an LED peak meter for the Re-Amp signal. It essentially illuminates when the output signal is greater than that generated by electric guitar or bass pickups. This can be helpful if you'd like the re-amp volume to match the original recording. Meter adjustments can be made with the PCB mounted trim potentiometer. The 1/4" input and output jacks can be used simultaneously, making this a great device for integrating Hi-Z guitar pedals into a Lo-Z studio signal path. The DI will need a mic preamp to operate properly. When paired with the Super Storm 500 series preamp, you get the exact DI signal path of the Dark Storm. The Eye of Jupiter is not a sterile, colorless device. It has a subtle hair and edge to the sound, but also presents a noticeable level of warmth and headroom you don't often find outside of vacuum tube circuits. Inside is a fully discrete JFET signal path feeding a pair of Lightning Boy Audio transformers.  At this time, the Eye of Jupiter is available for $399 USD on the store page of this site.

  • LBA MC15 and RA66 audio transformers provide an added level of smooth sheen to the sound.
  • 1/4" DI input with 150 Ohms mic-level output via rear card-edge connector.  This is the exact DI circuit from our Dark Storm preamp.
  • 1/4" Re-amping Hi-Z output from 600 Ohm line-level card-edge input.
  • Re-Amp (RA) feature includes an attenuator control knob
  • RA feature also provides an LED indicator which illuminates if the 1/4" RA output is louder than a typical electric guitar or bass signal.
  •  Low Cut filter switch is the same as in the Dark Storm, but only applies to the DI input here.
