The magic of Nuvistor vacuum tubes and passive equalization
combine for a truly special tonal experience.
Unlike most vacuum tube pedals by other manufacturers, the NuVision utilizes a 100% pure vacuum tube audio path operating at high voltage.  There are no transistors or clipping diodes in the audio circuitry of this pedal.  The NuVision is a limited release instrument preamp pedal.  It features a pair of new old stock nuvistor vacuum tubes and an interesting passive EQ circuit.  Designed to run on a standard 9v DC adapter (300mA+), the pedal boosts the voltage internally to 200v to run the tubes at their ideal plate voltage for the big headroom and responsive feel of a tube amp.  Designed, assembled, and hand wired by the good wizard himself.

Nuvistors were designed to be long-lasting, reliable, small, and efficient.  The 12AX7 tube is designed to last for 10,000hrs, whereas a Nuvistor is designed to see no more than a 1% change in performance over a period of 10,000hrs.  They last a long freaking time!  To make their life even longer, I decided to set their filament voltages below the rated 6.3v.  I found Nuvistors perform 100% fully with a filament voltage reduced to 4.5v, as used in this pedal.  The reduced filament voltage has no effect on sound (other than slightly less noise), but does double the lifespan of the tubes.  Basically, the pedal is designed in such a way that the end user should never need to replace the tubes.  For more information about the NuVision, please refer to the user's guide here.

  • All-tube design utilizes a pair of 6DS4 Nuvistor vacuum tubes. 
  • Passive shelving EQ with bass & treble boost/cut knobs, plus HC & LC switches.​
    • Bass Knob ~ 100Hz
    • Treble ~ 3kHz
    • Low Cut switch ~ 75Hz with a 6dB per octave slope
    • High Cut switch ~ 2.8kHz with a 3dB per octave slope
  • Paper-in-oil capacitors for coupling and EQ filters for that liquid smooth Lightning Boy sound.
  • 9v DC @ 300mA power requirement.  Steps it up internally to 200v for the B+. Loads of headroom! 
  • True Bypass
  • In and Out volume controls.  In sets the level of distortion.  Out sets the overall output volume.
