New EQ Mod & 1/4" Wet output come standard!  Read below.

Above video:  The original product release.  The EQ Mod & Wet Out are new.
Articulate and organic sounding with massive headroom in a tiny box that weighs just over a pound.  The DiVision presents class A, single-ended tube tone with a rock bottom -99dB noise floor A-weighted.  A custom designed onboard voltage booster creates a whopping 230 Volts of B+ from a standard 9V pedal adapter.  Due to the efficiency of the worlds smallest vacuum tube ever created - the Nuvistor, the DiVision operates with very little heat output and relatively low power consumption, all within a very small package.  The signal gain offered by the DiVision's tube stage is +11dB.  This is accompanied by a high frequency tube-EQ section.  From there the signal gets split off to a wet 1/4" output (DiVision) and also to a (made-in-house) LBA-MC15 audio transformer which feeds the XLR jack.  The DiVision is entirely made by one man in the USA.  A work of his Art, numbered, signed and limited to 68 DiVisions total.

This design utilizes a single 6DS4 nuvistor vacuum tube running at 230V.  I wanted to balance tube life with great tone and low heat.  Great tone doesn't usually balance well with low heat and long tube life IMO, but I found a zone where it balances out nicely.  The onboard power supply is designed to be efficient and low noise in order to generate the 230V B+ and 6V filament voltages with minimal heat dissipation.  The entire unit gets warm during use, but never hot.  I'm running the tube's filament a little below its rating of 6.3V since it has no effect on performance, but the lower voltage does extend filament life substantially.

Control knobs are input "volume" and "Vision," which is a tube-powered high frequency shelving boost.  Buttons are phase invert and ground lift, as seen on the TI Box.  Jacks are 1/4" input and bypass, and XLR mic-level balanced output.  Power connection is a standard Boss-style barrel jack.  The volume control allows the user to attenuate loud signals before they hit the output transformer, should that be desired (for greater clarity).  The vision knob is an adaptation of the "Brilliance" circuit used in my Trinity channel strip's EQ.  Its a high frequency shelving boost, which provides up to 6dB of boost shouldering at around 10kHz.  This control is an active EQ circuit, which is powered directly from the nuvistor.  Tube EQ!

An LBA-MC15 audio transformer is the output transformer of the DiVision.  I designed this transformer and I'm manufacturing them in-house, which adds to the uniqueness of the the DiVision's tone.

Just 68 total DiVisions to be produced.  Each DiVision is signed and numbered.

Now shipping with the new EQ Mod & Wet Out!  The EQ Mod adds a few new features to the DiVision along with some cosmetic changes.  The "Range" switch allows the user to select either the stock "Vision" frequency of 10kHz, or a new lower frequency of about 3.4kHz.  The "Dark" switch is a very gentle high frequency roll-off at about 10kHz.  If the Range is set to "Lo" with the Vision knob turned up and the "Dark" switch is engaged, an upper-mid bell-curve boost happens at around 3.4kHz.  This can give the effect of more presence in the bass sound.  However, if the same is done, but with the Range switch set to "HI", the frequency response of the DiVision is relatively unchanged (as with minimal "Vision" and the "Dark" switch off), albeit with more coloration of the sound.  Also included in the new EQ Mod is a 1/4" wet output labeled "DiVided".  This output comes pre-transformer, but post tube and EQ circuits.  It can be used to provide a preamplified sound to an amp or FX pedal chain.  The Bypass output (dry), DiVided output (wet), and XLR output (Lo-Z) can all be used at the same time.
Existing owners can send their stock DiVision back to LBA for the EQ Mod.  The Mod replaces both potentiometers, new custom LBA-brand knobs (made in house) are added, the knob-side panel gets a couple new holes and some extra printing, a new custom circuit board with switches and caps gets added on, a 1/4" wet output jack gets added (labeled "DiVided"), and the top lid gets "EQ Mod" added to its graphics.  The mod is $75 plus shipping.  Email sales@lightningboyaudio.com to arrange for the EQ mod.
